Those of you who wish to congregate at the Richmond Hilton Hotel to take the bus please advise as soon as possible so that we can make the necessary arrangements. The same question holds for the dinner cruise on September 3rd.
The Terminal City Club is slightly further away from the Richmond Hilton Hotel than the original venue and as a result, we are thinking of arranging for a limousine bus to pick up and return. We need to know how many of you will take this option so we can select the right bus size. The cost of a cab ride for four from the Richmond hotel to the Terminal City Club is roughly $40, so that on a per person basis the return cab fare would be $20. A bus would cost about $12 to $15 per person return.
So………when you reply, please indicate your preference for the bus shuttle for both evenings. We will collect the fare on the bus.
Thanks for your attention to this request.
Sid and Sandra
Kontinentals members Sid Fattedad, Anders Nelsson, Dave Christian, Sammy Fattedad and Danny Piry in Vancouver recently See below for all the activities taking place.
Hong Kongers Sid & Sandra Fattedad have organized a fantastic weeklong party in Vancouver for Hong Kong-belongers from around the world from September 3rd to 6th in the Canadian city that many call Hong-Couver. Although many confirmed attendees are KGV Alumni, the activities are open to anyone interested in meeting old friends from Hong Kong, or indeed making some new friends with common interests.
The highlight of the party week will be a dinner dance featuring the 60s pop idols The Kontinentals performing together for the first time since their last reunion in 1986 in Hong Kong when they hosted a charity ball at the Hilton Hotel.

Here is an outline of the programs in September:
September 3: Dinner cruise on paddle wheeler at 6 p.m. – duration 3 hours. Music by jukebox provided by Rick Hanlon ($75 per person) The inaugural event of the reunion is the dinner cruise which promises to be a great opportunity for friends to mingle and chat as well as share stories in an extraordinary environment – on the “MPV Constitution” the only authentic paddle wheeler boat with three spacious decks and hardwood floors for dancing. We have the whole boat to ourselves and it will sail out of Vancouver’s Coal Harbour in downtown Vancouver boarding at 6 p.m. for a three hour cruise along the shores of English Bay, False Creek that will provide a romantic and scenic backdrop to the beginning of our reunion party. A total of 60 people can be accommodated for this event, and we have 58 signed on at the moment. Chances are this will be a sold out event and oversubscribed.
September 4: Dim Sum lunch and city shopping at 12 p.m. – duration 2 hours ($20 per person) then free for shopping and individual plans. September 5: Golf game for those interested – tee time at 10:30 a.m. duration 5 hours ($75 per person)
The Dim Sum lunch on Thursday September 4th and the golf program on Friday September 5th area coming along as anticipated and these are well subscribed. Robert Guterres is in charge of the golf program and his email address is serretug@dowco.com (don’t ask us what secret service he is in!)
First Ever Reunion since 1986 of The Kontinentals!
We are very happy to confirm that Anders Nelsson and the Kontinentals will stage their first ever reunion since 1986 and Anders will be performing his Hong Kong Hit songs “I think of Her” and “I Still Love You” as well as a few other choice numbers. The Canadian Kontinentals (Danny Piry, Gerald Laishley, Sid and Sammy Fattedad and Dave Christian) will be begin the evening’s dancing with their first of two sets of 12 numbers each, book-ending entertainment by Mike Samson (of the Top Notes) and perhaps Mike Remedios (of the Mystics). This promises to be a night of non-stop dancing and fun by all and yes, we promise there will be no speeches. A total of 150 people can be accommodated for this event and we have 99 signed up at the moment. 44 deposits have been paid in so far. We have received many enquiries by local Vancouver fans (formerly Hong Kong fans and friends) and will be opening up the event to them (at the same price) once the August 1 cut off for full payment passes. We fully expect this to be a sold out event so it will be first come first served after August 1.
Farewell dinner at Kirin Restaurant
September 6: Farewell dinner at Kirin Restaurant – dinner starts at 7:30 p.m. ($55 per person). The farewell dinner on Saturday September 6th., is slated to be a grand Chinese banquet with a ten course menu which will not comprise any exotic stuff (duck feet, snakes, sea urchins and the like) and will be generally suitable for most palates. If anyone has a serious food allergy, please let us know and we will make sure to communicate this to the restaurant. We are holding a reservation at the Kirin Restaurant in Richmond pending final payment from participants. The limit for the event is 64 people at 8 tables. We currently have 62 singed up and 24 deposits paid, so it looks like a sell out as well.
