The Kontinentals evolved from several years' worth of school bands at Hongkong's King George the Vth School..... itself a revolving door of friends and classmates, now spread all over the world.....
Is there an exact date when the band was born? I doubt it, although Danny Piry will probably tell you otherwise..... and I will try to convince him to tell the true story of The Kontinentals on this website one day. Suffice to say that the band was born in the heady days of the early sixties when those of us lucky enough to be teenagers at that time moved to the beat of a new set of drums..... born in America and developed in Merseyside.....
I left Hongkong to do my military service in 1965 and the band continued for another year before breaking up.....
There are fringe Kontinentals and Kontinentals wannabees, but as far as I'm concerned the definitive group, the group which made two 45 RPM singles consisted of:
Danny Piry, Dave Christian, Sidney Fattedad, Mike Souza, Roy Davenport and Anders
Nelsson.
Where are they now?
